Noise Machine

Currently working on a new technique that takes advantage of ‘confusion’ caused by the Tristan Tzara method in order to convey suggestions to certain members of the audience. should be very exciting. i’m having a few meetings over the next couple of months to check out the possibility of altering the spectators mental state using this technique beyond that which is already understood. At the moment, it depends on a whole lot of work, most significantly on the application of certain types of communication theory to the exploitation of multisensory experience. These techniques will form the basis for the new experimental work, delusions of alien control.

Thanks to everyone for showing up to the Trent Stevens benefit last night. It was a great event - my favorite of the year so far. Those who were unable to attend missed a really good show. The staff at Jack’s were also fantastic. Special thanks go to Herb for doing the sound, and Debbie Young for a great DJ set. Ace.

There are two new projects in the pipeline which are going to be developed over the next two years. The first will hopefully be ready for performance in 2006, and will be an experimental live audiovisual work entitled ‘Delusions of Alien Control‘. The piece will include various new audiovisual illusions I have been working on over recent years. It will be a high speed piece, and probably unsafe for some people to watch. Performance dates will be announced nearer the time.

In addition, I’m developing a new feature film entitled ‘Onion Jack‘. In many ways, this will be a follow up to the no-budget feature film ‘The Fake‘, currently in post production. Some of you may know about The Fake. Some of you may wish you didn’t.

Hi all. Just a quick note to let everyone know that the Anarchist Cinema are showing some great films this month. They’re also showing my short experimental audiovisual composition, Third World Warhol. I’m quite proud of this one - it’s a treatment of a piece of footage taken by an onlooker/journalist during the septemember 11th attacks. At first I was a bit dubious about working with the subject matter, partly because I don’t ever use found footage. However, the idea got the better of me. It was performed live as part of the Canterbury Festival, and this performance was replayed at a conference at Goldsmiths. Check it out.

There’s going to be a benefit for trent Stevens on Sunday June 19th at Jack’s on Crucifix Lane. there’s a flyer here. Tickets are £5 and all proceeds go straight to Trent and his family. The evening will comprise of a number of short films, and a performance by the band Shark. More on this stuff later
