Neuro-Aesthetic Audiovisual Attacks
This month, the Anarchist Cinema are showing my first ever film, Hertz (1998). This film was made the old fashioned way (16mm) and edited by hand. Many of the images were produced by computer and re-shot frame by frame with my old Bolex. There’s a real sense of me struggling to discover what I wanted to do with this piece. I still like some of it. However, there are some bits that I choose to forget about.
The end is the best bit, and foreshadows some of the concepts that have gone into producing my ‘Weapons of Mass Deconstruction’. No one knows about that yet. You’ll have to wait until after my PhD examination.
